I think I've tried every product under the sun at this point. And it took a ton of trying to finally get to this point. One of my good friends figured out what he liked very early on in vaping and didn't really deviate. Me? It's taken me 6-9 months and a ton of products to figure out what I like and what I don't. And I haven't had any sort of light-shining-down-from-heaven moment here either.
I just happened to be sitting here wondering what to write about and it occurred to me: I've been using the exact same products for at least two weeks straight. What are they?
Black NZonic clone with a Kick and a black Tobeco Kayfun. Yep. That's the best setup I have. Period. Love every single thing about it.
Innokin iTaste SVD with an Aspire Nautilus and steel Nautilus tank. That's my go-to backup device.
I have both of these in front of me right now and both have made their way to work with me every day for the past couple of weeks. So here are some random thoughts on these two setups.
Bottom line after a couple of weeks of Kayfun is the thing IS as good as everyone says it is. I was just a hoser for not being able to figure out how to use it right the first time I tried it. I am so in love with my black Tobeco Kayfun that I went back and bought a silver Tobeco Kayfun to use too. I'm still not entirely confident that the Kayfun is dependable enough to carry without a backup, but that's why I have setup #2.
In my opinion, if every new vaper started on an iTaste SVD and an Aspire Nautilus, they'd simply be set. For a stock-coil rig, this is about as good as it gets. It's simply never failed me. It seems to work every time I use it. Doesn't flood on me. Doesn't burn on me. The vapor production is good. And the SVD is stupidly durable. And just for a sidenote, I am equally as enamored with the iTaste MVP2, but I don't personally think the Nautilus looks right on it. It looks like it was made for the SVD though.
Even in the evenings lately, I've found myself bypassing my drippers entirely and going straight to the Kayfun. So what am I vaping in these setups?
My all-day-vape is Vanilla Custard. I can only assume that this flavor has become an ADV for many people since there are just so many companies out there making Van Cust flavors. Suicide Bunny's entire line is basically all a series of variations off of VC. And there are 14 other companies doing it too. Me? I'm making my own. This is one of the easiest flavor recipes to produce yourself if you ever get into DIY. I use Capella's Vanilla Custard flavoring and it's spectacular all by itself. If you add other things to it, it gets even better. You can try caramel, dulce de leche, other baked products like cheesecake or graham cracker, or add any number of different fruits to it. It's just really hard to screw it up. And I've been told that Flavors West (whose flavors usually aren't very good in my opinion) has a Vanilla Custard that beats Capellas by a mile. So I'm gonna have to try that one. I can tell you from experience to avoid Mount Baker Vapor's Vanilla Custard flavoring. I like some of their flavors. That's not one of them.
I've burned through about 150mL of my own Vanilla Custard in the past couple of months and I'm now making it up 30-60mL at a time. I have another Capella's order arriving today. Next flavor experiment: Hazelnut Cream Coffee. I'll let ya know how that turns out.
My Nautilus on the other hand almost always gets filled with a fruity flavor. I love lemonades. I like regular lemonade vapes, pink lemonade vapes, and right now I'm on my third 30mL bottle of Coval Vapes's Strawberry Lemonade. It's fresh. It's summery. And a nice change from the richness of my Vanilla Custard. In general, I'd give Coval about a "B" on their e-liquid, but I love this Strawberry Lemonade. My only complaint is it could be a tad stronger, but it's very good. And their prices make them a company worth checking out if you haven't.
So that's where I'm at. After 9 months or so, I've FINALLY found my all day vapes. And I still have my Five Pawns favorites to drip with when I need a change of pace. I still have my carto tank filled with Artisan's Glazed Pecan.
And I have a rack of mods that aren't getting used. And a dozen 30mL bottles of juice that aren't getting vaped. But I'm here. Finally.
